Entrepreneur and Investor immigration is available through the provinces of Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island for the individuals who meet the financial and other requirements.

The government for the province of Quebec in Canada has a special agreement with the Federal Government of Canada on immigration. This allows the province of Quebec to implement its own rules in regard to how the immigrants are going to be selected. Quebec-Selected Skilled Workers Program (QSWP) requires applicants to satisfy the points requirements in accordance with the Canadian immigration program in addition to meeting the French language requirements. Once accepted by the province of Quebec applicants will be eligible to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency.

After an individual becomes a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident, they are eligible to apply to sponsor their close family members such as spouse and dependant children.

Canada is one of the most popular destinations for international students from all over the world. In the past decade the Canadian international student population has tripled to 642,000 in 2019. In terms of foreign student attraction Canada is ranked number 3, just behind Australia and the United states.In order to be a student in Canada there are certain requirements that need to be met. First of all one must acquire a Canadian Study Permit that has to remain valid throughout the study period. Students participating in courses or programs that are six months or less in duration do not require such a permit. If a student wishes to further their studies in Canada, they must apply to have their permit renewed. Students attending accredited higher educational institutions on full time basis are also permitted to work part-time on or off campus, they are also allowed to participate in co-op or internship programs as well in order to meet the requirements of the program that they are studying. Upon graduation, international students can choose to live in Canada by obtaining a job in their field and later applying for permanent residency.

This class is for skilled workers who have foreign work experience and want to immigrate to Canada permanently. There are certain minimum requirements for this program that need to be met for the applicant to be eligible. These requirements include skilled work experience, language ability and education. If the applicant meets all the basic requirements, he/she will then be assessed based on age, education, work experience, language skills (English and French), adaptability and whether he/she has a valid job offer. Some of the professions currently in demand under this class include physicians, nurses, managers, accountants, professors and engineers.

In order to move to Canada as a skilled immigrant, one must use the Express Entry route. This system allows skilled workers to enter and remain in Canada within the six months after they submit their application and individuals immigrating under this plan gain permanent residency upon their arrival to Canada.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) uses Express Entry as a tool to select candidates for immigration to Canada under the following programs:
– Canadian Experience Class
– Federal Skilled Trades Class
– Federal Skilled Worker Class
– Provincial Nominee Programs

This class is for individuals who are qualified in a skilled trade and want to become permanent residents based on those qualifications. In order to become eligible, the applicant must meet certain minimum requirements including requisite language ability, minimum 2 years of full-time work experience or equivalent part time experience in a skilled trade within the 5 years before the time of application. Some of the professions included in this class are construction, electrical, and industrial trades as well as chefs, cooks, butchers and bakers.

Workers who have skills, education and work experience that can contribute to the economy of a certain province or territory can qualify under these programs. Each province and territory have specific immigration programs that target certain groups. For example, a province or territory may have a stream that targets students, skilled workers, semi-skilled workers or businesspeople. Under these programs those who do not qualify for the skilled worker visa may still be eligible for permanent Canadian residency. Provincial nominee programs allow semi and low skilled to enter Canada and gives them a chance to live/work here and contribute to the Canadian economy.
